  • Copying Fonts

I have 2 computers. When I made out my niffty lists with samples, of all the fonts available for embroiders, I did it from my office machine - running XP home. I don't have nearly as many fonts on my embroidery computer as I do on the office computer. Therefore I would like to copy/paste (or something!!) to get the same font on both computers. I am finding that I CAN NOT copy/paste fonts when they are in the fonts di4ectory under Windows. So, how do I "copy" fonts from one computer to another?

    Juli,

You are correct the Windows/Fonts folder acts differently than the other folders. However, you can create a new folder inside the widdows folder and MOVE a font from the Fonts folder to your new folder. Then, you can copy it to a removeable media and then (move or copy) it back to the Fonts folder.

It can be a little tricky and sometimes a True Type file can give you an error message and cause problems with that font, so before you attempt this backup the font folder.

Well, that worked! Thanks for the info. My two computers are hardwired together so getting the files from one to the other was easy. And they are all there. Wonderful. Now I need to go through and weed the very similar ones out and get rid of the ones that don't work so well.
