I've noticed that the website is not up to-date with the current software version numbers. Anyone know why that is? The current version for the OS is 7.00.055 and for Design Shop Pro +, it is 7.00.046 in case anyone is interested.

Heh. Sorry. I suppose I wasn't clear what the most recent *released* version was. Jeff, I am guessing you confirm .055 and .046 are the most recent in customers hands at present, so I will indeed update the home page. If it's wrong, just hit me with a PM.
Thanks! John Yaglenski

Hi John,
Well, I do not want to start a "why was I not shipped the latest" issue, but the actual versions are now 7.00.056 for Amaya OS and 7.00.046 for Design Shop. This newest release was made available recently.
The differences between it and the previous 7.00.055 are slight and will not effect most people. It fixes an issue with the Sequin Device, and it fixes the LED on the Keypad so it goes RED if the machine is powered up with it depressed. There was also an issue with the Color Change Needle Calibration that would double step instead of single step. The installer had an issue that if no items were selected it did not tell you.

I have had numerous emails today asking how to get the latest version of the software. The best way is to contact Melco Service at 877-840-5829 or email them at and request it. Order part number 33616 which is the part number for the 071307.0 release of software which contains the most recent releases of Amaya and Design Shop. Every release has its own part number.

Jeff,
Can you explain in more detail what the Color Change Needle Calibration problem is?

The Amaya XT machines have the needle case center on each needle by the use of an encoder on the color change motor that counts each step. This is one of the improvements made to the Amaya XT. The Color Change is calibrated on each machine as each one has minute differences in the distances between needles and tolerances of parts. There is a procedure that centers each and every needle. There are keys pressed that move the needle case left or right a small distance to do this calibration. The calibration procedure was moving the needle case 2 steps instead of one in one version of the RSA files released for the machine in the version 7.00.055. This version of the file was only shipped to a very few before it was corrected, it was permanently corrected on the CD of the 7.00.056 version. Unless there was a problem where re-calibration of the needle case was needed you would not be effected, and if re-calibration was needed in the 7.00.055 version, a new file was made available that could be sent in an email or downloaded that corrected the double stepping. Even with the double stepping, the settings can made to work so most will never ever realize there is a problem.

Since Kevin actually did a calibration on an AMAYA (red) needle case, I believe I understand your explaination. THANKS! We do have a AMAYA XT, but it does not seem we need to move to this newest release of software. Agian, thank you for the info.
