• Digitizing woes :(

Since the last time we posted with questions, we have been able to resolve all of our machine issues and I think we have the machine under control. Our new issue we feel is digitizing related. The first design I digitized, I let the Design shop do it for me initially, and I went in and edited what it had done automatically and the design ran beautifully! Now when we digitize something from scratch - it does not run smoothly at all, A LOT of thread breaks and it looks like it is feeding WAY too much thread. This is a small design, but it has not run correctly yet and no matter what we change, it does not seem to help. When we switch to a purchased design, no problem (really great for my ego). What are we doing wrong? Also, do you stitch out exp files or ofm files? Does it make a difference. Thanks in advance

Hi there. You say "small design" and I immediately think, "small columns", which are a BIG nightmare!

Does your design have underlay? Is there enough stabilizer? Is it too dense? Are there too many colors overlapping? Did you remember to hop up and down on one foot while waving pom poms and whistling Pop Goes The Weasel, alternated with Yankee Doodle Dandy? (The last one gets the machines mind off of messing with you and makes it work better.)

Well, we did not try the last, but Eric does not allow me to look at the machine or watch it run as it "makes the machine nervous". I think our stitches may be too small.

        Shell,

I would be happy to take a look at it and give you some recommendations based on my experience. I do not do use the automatic digitizing feature in DS Pro+. I do however buy patterns from time to time and I mormally design my own.
