  • Color Changes - computer glitch I guess

    Hi,
I thought everyone might be interested in this happening that really did not make my day. Am an Amaya owner.

Sewing a large format design 133,838 stitches - 32 color changes. Got to Color No. 16 needle change and it sewed all the wrong colors (if I would have let it)- of course, I got lucky and noticed it. Then Iadvanced it through the last 16 colors by moving to color number and made a note of ea color it was going to sew. PTL Anyway, I called Melco tech and he said well, you might have to replace your needle sensors. But then we tried to figure out what order it was sewing for what reason (the Color sequence was entered correctly and showed up in that menu correctly). Couldn't figure it out so he had me exit OS and reload design. It came up in wrong colors just as it would have sewed them - I had written them down - . I opened the Color Seq menu and there were only 16 colors there.. It had not brought in the other 16..
Good ending though. I reset the last 16 colors and it went to the machine and finished sewing the design correctly.

However, even tho all 32 colors showed up in the color sequence -- it was only sewing the first 16 colors and when it went to 17 was resewing in the order of the first 16..

My friend in Nevada who has an XT had the same problem last Sunday.. So it must be happening somewhat.

This is more an FYI than anything. However, I am going to reload OS and Design Shop tomorrow before I start sewing just in case there is some glitch there.

Sorry if this has been a prev topic - I hadn't noticed it tho so thought I'd share.

Whenever you have a FYI like this its a good idea to let us know what software version you are running. If it is a glitch in the software you should check to see if there is an upgraded version available to you. This way people running a different version might not be as worried about this problem as someone running the exact same version as you.
