  • AMAYA OS problems

Hi Folks - I upgraded 3 days ago to OS 7.00.018 on my 2 XT machines. Since then I have run almost 700,000 stitches and suddenly tonight an error box pops up with a bunch of unintelligable squares in them. Within 20 seconds I have about 15 of these boxes on the screen in different sizes but all with the same squares. I can't load a design or do much of anything except go into Task Manager to shut it down. I've powered off the machines, shut down the computer, restarted a few times, same problem each time. Now I'm stuck in the middle of a huge job with an impending deadline. Can anybody help me?

    thanks

    Hey Tom:

Just a note up front - .029 is the latest version - you might want to see if you can get a copy of it.

Ok, on to your problem... Shut down the OS. Then try clearing out all the files in this folder:

    C:\Program Files\Melco Embroidery Systems\AMAYA\Jobs\Cluster1\Current

Restart the OS, and reload your design. You should be able to sew. I have had the problem once or twice before.

Question - did this happen on the first load of a design or just a repeat of a design you had sewn out today already? If it was the first load, it's likely something specific to the design that is causing this.

John - thanks for the quick response. I know about .029 but my salesperson is non-existant. She didn't even know about version 7 and I had to convince her that I qualified for this upgrade which was only shipped to me in early July. Unfortunately, your solution didn't work. There was only 1 file in that directory - the design I was sewing when it started. I had sewed the design over 60 times between the 2 machines before this happened. I deleted the file and tried again. I still have the boxes flashing at me and leaving me no choice but to shut down and try again. Any other thoughts? If I can't get this going today, I will try to load the OS on my laptop to get the job finished.

      thanks

How about any of the other folders in the cluster folder - do they have files in them - if so delete them as well (the files - not the folders).

Do you have Force Download on in the OS? If you are not sure - check to make sure. Assuming you have the OS loaded before you turn the amaya on - does this come up right away - or only after you turn the machine on?

I'll have to check tonight when I get home from my day job, but I did already delete all the files in the other folders (it was all the same design foe some reason). I'm not sure about the Force Download although I think that is on. And it happens as soon as I load the OS, before I even turn the machines on. thanks

John - Melco service reached out to me and told me I needed to delete the "Stats" file in the C:\Program Files\Melco Embroidery Systems\AMAYA\System directory. Somehow it became corrupted. That did the trick. Thanks to everyone who offered assistance on this. I post the solution in case it happens to others.
