  • False Bobbin breaks

I am getting false bobbin breaks on a design I have sewn many times before. Changed bobbins and bobbin cases.

Sometimes I am plauged by these. The needle lifting the material causes most. I lower the presser foot then, tighten the bobbin slightly or add a tearaway layer under the hoop. If it happens on a cap. but not on all caps, I may just back up 13 stitches and press go until it gets past it.
Wish I had better info for you. Maybe someone else has a good solution.

For me false bobbin breaks usually mean that the actifeed is feeding too much top thread.

Try setting it to standard feed on a number like 4. I don't know what you are sewing on, if its something very thin try 3. If it is thick you may need to try 5. Doing this usually takes care of it for me.

If changing the top thread setting doesn't work. Try turning the thread break bar about 1/4 turn. That can sometimes fix the problem. You can also try turning the needle about 5-10 degrees to the right. On some needles you will need to turn the needle slightly past what you think is normal because the hook hits the thread dead center and causes shredding or breaks.
