  • Slimline v. Mighty Hoop

I have 80 backpacks to embroider. The hoop will have to go over a substantial zipper. My "regular" hoops will not do. It may be time to bite the bullet and invest in some higher tech hoops. Does anyone have experience with both options and have an opinion? Thanks.

    Hey Neighbor:

Slim line clamps all the way. Use them ALL the time and despite the cost, they are invaluable. We're doing 20 beach bag pockets today with them. Can't imagine trying to hoop or even using fast frames with these.

We just did some Sanmar totes with a side pocket with a zipper...the slim line was the way to go!

We also do not use any backing at all on totes...never had a problem that vinyl is so rigid.
Slide the tote into the frame, check spacing left to right from a seam with a small ruler, from the bottom edge up to the frame-and hit the trace button, then the green button!
Fast and furious-rather do totes anyday over a shirt.

I have with the mighty hoop. I am doing a bag today with zipper, I love it. Haven't used the Slim Line clamps as yet. I'm doing 90% of my work with the Mighty Hoop. Am VERY HAPPY. It's very fast and I have found it to be secure. I agree I wouldn't use the fast frame.
