Failed acknowledge on head trim

Been having bobbin troubles off and on all day. Finally changed out the bobbin and case, cleaned everything out, oiled the cutter. Worked for a little while, now the bobbin isn't catching and I just got a "failed acknowledge on trim command" from my xt. What I have been working on all day are appliqued designs, usually able to do these with almost no difficulty. any suggestions? thanks, cheryl k.

After applique I always suspect my baby is sticky. I wipe everything down with rubbing alcohol, oil where I should have oil, and go back to work.
