Trim ?

almost every time a trim is performed it leave a short tail on the bobbin (only about .25 to .5 inches out of the pig tail), and causes a mis-start on the next stitch. Also I noticed when it trims it is bringing the top thread in front of the bobbin case and it sounds like the thread is rubbing on the front of the bobbin case. I never payed attention before so I don't know if that is normal. Any suggestions on the short trim on the bobbin

This has been addressed repeatedly and a lot of information will be found by researching the archives, but to start with, take off the needleplate, aggressively clean and blow out the trimmer/selector area and give the knife/selector a good coat of fresh oil......

I just posted similar problem, Rod and Ed both replied and told me what to do...and it worked! Didn't even know HOW to take off the top needleplate on the XT...and we've had it a year. Now I know...and it made an immediate difference.

The top thread is supposed to rub against the bobbin case. So this is probably not your issue. Chances are your trimmer assembly needs an adjustment. Loosen the top screw and ever so gently move the front of the assembly to the right just a hair. Then tighten the screw.
If you move it too far, the trimmer won't trim correctly.

I have a Tech coming out Thurs to give it a once over. Broke a needle last night too, so I figured I would have a pro come out. There is one pretty close by to Philly so I think its worth it.
