• WACF Cables

Ok, I have fallen and can't get up...Not really but I fill like that is what is going on...

I went to put my WACF on the machine today and all I did was take it out of the box as usual and wouldn't you know it, the cables came off of where they are suppose to be. I am trying to put it back together however I can't seem to get the cables and everything where they are suppose to be.

Is this something I can do easily or do I need to have the tech come out? Please tell me I can do this on my own and technically don't need to have a tech out...

I have tried looking at the parts/manual for help but it doesn't really say anything that I can tell about putting the cables back on.

TIA~

Tina,
This is one of the first rules to doing caps. Always pick up your cap driver out of the box or from where it's stored holding it from the center of the driver making sure it doesn't slide off the end of the long arm. If your trainer didn't emphasize this, hunt them down.

Now, as for your troubles,....
It is possible to put everything back together but not without dissassembling the driver. Personally, I can do this without destroying it but I have seen many customers attempt it themselves only to mess it up in the process.
As far as having a tech come out, probably not necessary. But you will need someone with technical aptitude who can appreciate the intricasies of the device.

Don't try to simply slip the cable back on to the round section as this is not the best way.

Good luck,
Ed

Ed~

Thanks for the tips but I got it fixed last night. I sat down and it took me awhile to figure out how to get it back together but I got it done..So this morning I tested it out and sewed my hats out and it worked perfectly.

I knew to grab it in the middle and that is what I always do but for some reason I must have been to one side or the other and it fell apart on me....

I learned alot by fixing it and it is not the easiest thing to put back together.

Yea! Tina, have you ever thought about becoming a tech? After all, what else have you got to do with your time? Not that you couldn't do it. I have every confidence that you could do it and do it well.

I thought about it right after I replaced the mother board on the big red by myself and then I came back down to reality and said there is no way I would have time to be a tech and raise two girls, have my two businesses and be a ranchers wife on top of it all so that went out the window really fast!

I am pretty much mechanically inclined and fix quite a bit of stuff by myself and what I cant do or don't want to do the husband can fix anything...maybe when I retire from something I can add the tech but not right now...

Help Tina, how did you get those cables back on?
I bought my Amaya used and guess what the cables are not where theey should be on the frame.
I was hoping to attempt my first hat today.
If anybody else here has the answer, please speak up.
Having never seen it with the cables where they should be I'm lost.

Update, I have no idea how hubby figured it out but he did.
Looks like I'll be keeping him around for another 20 years
