• Refurbished Amaya

I am new to the business and have purchased a refurbished Amaya which is being shipped this week. We have been using a friends machine tha is 16+ years old and I can't wait to get my hands on a newer one (4-5 yrs old). Does anyone have any advice on what I need to do first and where can I go to learn how to operate it while I wait for the machine and the dvd's to get here. I want to hit the ground running. I have about 80 items just waiting.

Thanks in advance

I hear you and have felt your pain. We just recently (about 1 month ago)purchased a New AMAYA after using a 20+ year old Barudan machine for the past two years. I am starting to get really comfortable with it, but not after a few frustrations; especially regarding caps! Some was usere error, part was also we had a defective cap frame (once we got a enw one, our trouble vanished!)

It is a great machine and I am impressed with the quality of work I am able to produce with it!! Good luck an dif you have any Qs, this is the place to be!! Good Luck!

Hold on to your 16 year-old machine as Amaya's have a learning curve (even if you already know the embroidery business.) You can take classes (for a fee if you didn't buy it from Melco.) The list is here http://www.melcouniversity.com/train...ons-melco.aspx Melco used to have more locations but they have shut down a couple training centers over the past year or so.

Thanks folks,
I have signed up for all the classes and looking forward to them. I will be back with more questions I am sure.
