I just got my machine 2 weeks ago, and the moment I turn it on for the first time I got this message "thread feed roller counter maintenance due" it says it's my 4,000,000 stitches maintenance, on a brand new machine? Is this normal?

I'm not sure if that is normal or not, however we received our new XT in August and we found that our rollers had no grease in them at all. First thing we did was a complete maintenance on the machine, That way you will know everything is up to date from the start.

I appreciate the info. I really don't understand why you would have to give maintenance to a brand new machine, but oh well! Thanks again.Jazmin from Mexico in San Antonio
www.PoshLittleThings.com
http://www.etsy.com/shop/poshlittlethings

Well, mine sat for a week in 115 deg (or hotter) weather in Las Vegas. All the grease was melted out. And dummy me, I didn't catch on until I was talking to Good ol' Herb on the phone. He says, "WHAT is that noise?" He could here it loud and clear. It's my new machine. I don't know a good sound from a bad sound. Turns out it was metal rubbing on metal! Yiks! Get out the grease!
You simply don't know how long that machine was sitting in what kind of temps. Better to be safe than sorry.

Japhel,
Just know that you are going to have to provide maintenance for your machine all the time. I would even tell you to check the lubrication on your most commonly used thread feed pinch rollers every two weeks to a month. You know, like black, white, red, etc.. thread.
As far as a new machine is concerned, you don't know how long the machine sat in the wearhouse before it was shipped to you or what temperatures it endured at the loading dock and for how long. I once had a $250,000 machine sent to me in a refridgerated truck. Once they unloaded it off the truck, the humidity started to instantly condensate and water dripped throughout the entire machine.
Lubricating your machine on a regular basis is just necessary.
