• Hoop arms are lower in front

I noticed today that the arms that hold the hoop are not totally level....They are lower in the front and it will interfere sometimes so that you have a smaller area you can embroider in - the front hoop corner catches on the front of the needle plate. Is there anyway I can adjust this?

Bend them upwards slightly Over time the weight of heavier garments etc tends to bend the arms down slightly.

      Mary,

As John said...."bend them up slightly"....

As John's self chosen interpreter..right John?......what he meant to say is becareful not to bend them up too much. If you get them too high, the spring clip on the hoop arms can/will/may be picked up by the grabber blade during a trace and WILL push your needle case forward and some or all of your needle bars will drop free of the retaining groove.

Just another case of where more is not always better. After bending the hoop arms, with the E stop depressed or the machine off, manually move the X carriage around "SLOWLY" to check the clearance between the hoop arms and the grabber blade.

It is always a good idea to check this at regular intervals to prevent damage to the machine.

Thanks everyone - it worked great! I did not know you could move the x carriage like that.
