Lots of topics on this you might want to do a search for thread trimming and see if anything helps.
Also, in the future it would be helpful for the techs if you can give them as much information on your machine and if you see it more on one needle more then another. Also, have you checked out the cutting length and see if changing that might help you as well.
Thank you for your helpful hint. I have watched the machine for awhile, and it seems to doing it in random. I started to writing down which needle is doing it, and gave up after awhile. My machine is Amaya XT, purchased new machine about 5 month ago. I replaced all needles(75/11), and made sure it is turn about 5 degree to right. Check to see if trimmer is working correctly, and it seems to be. Where should I look for cutting length, and how should I change it?
I had this similar problem with my machines at about the same age...resolution was to have the tech come and adjust the cables for the knife. As it moved in/out, it was off and mis-trimming. I haven't had the problem since these cables were adjusted. My personal thoughts on this is that when new machines are delivered, they should be set up and checked by a tech. I think it would avoid these types of issues. I also think an annual maintenance program would also save Melco much in the long run. It's not like we can haul these to the nearest Vac & Sew . . .
We had nothing but trouble with our original Big Red for about 3 years...until we suddenly found out there WAS a local tech for our area! First time out-he fixed every single problem and it was like new. So, when we did the upgrade to the XT this spring, before I even sent in the check for it-I had him (Brian Kirk) already scheduled to come up and install it. When it got here-we set it up on the stand..and did nothing but look at it until he got here a couple days later. Well worth the wait-he went over it from top to bottom, tested it, showed us the new features, how to use the new hat setup...all on 'our dime'...and we didn't regret it at all. So this time-we got it running and started using it immediately-and have not had a single problem with it. Now, if he only did tech help on the SOFTWARE..
as for annual maintainence...Melco requires that for warranty...at least on the 'extended' warranty we had on the Big Red. Doesn't matter if they want it for the new XT warranty or not-we have already 'booked' him on a yearly basis to come over and give it a look over. Well worth it...

Yes, well worth it. I agree. I purchased the extended warranty and Melco tech was here for the once-over. I guess they'll come out again when the annual renewal is due. I agree that it is also well worth it. I also think Melco should concentrate more in this area of support. It's the one area where I see lacking. More happy end-users that are not anxious about their machines failing them and being left out in the cold would boost their sales. That's just my opinion.
