we just bought a used machine Amaya XT and attempting to follow the instructions in the manual. however we are stuck. I have installed the Ethernet cable to the computer/amaya xt. I have opened the OS and made the recommended selections under -tools - options - Ethernet- force download (and selected my Ethernet card). i than go to configure and select machine config wizard. at this window it says turn on machine and let machine and code (dongles) detect how many machines there are. NOTHING ...it does not see my machine. it list clusters 1 but 0 machines. Help. please. we need to move to the next step of set up.

Did you press the bullseye button on the keypad? If not press that until you here something then it should find your machine if you have done everything correct...

Tina thanks got it to work. It was the ethernet cable that was shipped with the machine. I happen to have a spare cable here at home and tried that .. next will be to buy one that is longer... thanks for the very fast response.

If you are running only one machine and are not networking the machine thru a hub/switch/router, etc....you need to be using a "cross-over cable".

One machine, one computer----use a cross-over cable....the crossover cable Melco sends is yellow in color.

Two machines, one computer, one hub/switch....use standard ethernet cables.

Are you pluging the Amaya into the computer or a router ??

I hope I'm not chiming in too late but Best Buy sells crossover cables for over $20. Newegg.com has it for under $4 (plus shipping but still under $10.) If you don't mind waiting a couple days for it to show up.
