Before starting to sew I was checking presser foot height (maintenance, head timing, bottom center) & it broke the needle, & is now stuck down. Error message Z axis. Melco tech tried to get me to hand turn the shaft (correct name?). But hand turning it does not lift needle up much.
I tried hitting head up, but only get the z axis error again. The needle is not lined up with the hole in the needle plate & presser foot either, needle is off to the right.

Yes I did get the needle out. Tonight my husband was able to push on needle case slightly while hand turning the shaft & it moved back in synch.
So I'm back up sewing. Appreciate the info levelbest & will save your info for future.
                    Thanks
