Dickies Lined Jackets

Wondering if anyone has ever embroidered on the Dickies Eisenhower lined jackets without using a backing material?

I have some to do and was wondering if I really have to use a backing. I've done the long length lined jackets before and have always used a tearaway. Lining is quilted satin type.

Thank you for your note. However, I decided to try it without any backing and it actually worked better than when I previously stitched the Dickies lined jackets with backing.

I used black bobbins, and the lining is black. It made for a much cleaner looking embroidery inside, and I didn't get as much push of material on the outside because I was actually able to hoop the garment tighter.
