  • No backing stiches from bobbin

    Hello All,

While midway sewing thru a design we reached a thread cut. The machine "grunted" a little bit, heard the cutter move in/out, but the top thread was not cut. The machine moved to the next stitch area and promptly failed with a thread break error. When I looked closely, I noticed that there was no thread being pulled from the bobbin. I cleaned the bobbin area, checked the bobbin tension and tried again. No luck. Everything I try to sew out fails immediately with no bobbin thread backing the stitches. To a very untrained eye, everything looks just like it did before. How can I walk thru what might be the potential problem. There was no needle break or any kind of "collision" just a noisy thread cut attempt. If trying to sew something now, in the several stitches before it stops, all is quiet and smooth ( no bumping/clanking or grinding) . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, after searching thru the forums, and a couple more hours in front of the machine, I believe I may have solved my own problem. Look at me!
I power cycled everything, cleaned and lubed the bobbin area and cutter assembly.

Finally noticed that the selector arm was not fully retracted. Cleaned and lubrciated the selector arm assembly.

Put everything back together, seems to be working like a champ.
