Thread Cone Clovers

Has anyone used these thread cone clovers yet? Are they really necessary?

Necessary only if the cones are tipping to the front, leaving a gap at the back between the pad they sit on and the cones themselves- I only use them on the cones that give me trouble- mainly the Madeira ones because they are so tall. They are just another tool in our struggle with the Mighty Amaya!
