  • IP Address for the Amaya XT.

The local computer Guru seems to think that we need an IP address for the embroidery machine and cannot find it in any of the documentation or manuals. Can anyone please advise on this.
    Many thanks Liz

You simply need to hook your computer up to your Amaya - if one Amaya via crossover cable or if multipe Amayas - standard network cable to the switch from the computer, and then standard network cables to the amayas from the switch.

The amayas should be on their own network segment, not connected to a network that contains other computers. In our machine, we accomplish this by having 2 network cards in our computer. I believe melco recommends you use the computer for nothing but the embroidery network - but we don't do that since I want to be able to back up our computer to a windows home server and be able to hit suppliers websites while I am working.

Tell your computer guru not to worry about IP's.

      Liz,
What kind of problems are your computer guru trying to solve?
What is not working or happening correctly?
Did you get a new computer?

        Hi guys.

Thank you for your replies. It turned out the computer guru was barking up the wrong tree. It was a software issue with the RSA and CSA files. The Amaya runs on a dedicated Dell laptop.

Thank you again for you suggestions and help.

        Liz
