Thread "Snap" when trimming

Please, any one know why my thread is snaping , and coming out of the needle when its supposed to Trim? some times the trim works sometimes not. mostly on the smaller aspects of our current design.
do we need a new blade for the trimmer?
thanks for any help, we've got 90 polos to stitch out and it constantly snaps near the end of our stitch out--about 8 snaps each shirt!

Yes, start with replacing the knife and while you have the needle plate off, blow out the area thouroughly and oil the selector mechanism.

Where are you running as far as presser foot height?

What kind/brand, of thread are you using?

Do you have the needles "all" properly oriented with the groove down the face of the needle approximately 5 degrees to the right? This is important.

When was the last time a "complete" lubrication sequence was done on the machine?

What style of tie-in and tie-off are you using.

Do you do your own digitizing?

Lots more questions that could affect the trimming operation on the XT.

Can someone clearly explain how digitizing affects trims. I ran 100 50/50 t-shirts with a left chest logo and a right sleeve logo. I digitized both logos. There were no problems with the left chest sewing. However, the sleeves were a major hassle. Constant thread breaks and missed trims. I have three red pre-XT Amayas. Two had fewer problems than the third. It was the same material, same backing, same presser foot settings, same OS settings (except for colors), and the small letters were not as small as the ones on the front. When I was finally done, I ran AMPASS.exp on the machine with the most problems. Same thread, same needles. Not a break and not a missed trim! So, it seems to me that the problems are in the digitizing. I think I can figure out the problems with the thread breaks, but I do not understand the relationship (if there is one) of the digitizing to missed trims. Thanks.

Interesting, we just received our new XT and have been monitoring it closely, the tech has been to the shop twice now, repairing different parts around the bobbin. Early this week, it seemed better, still way more thread and bobbin breaks than our old "Big Red" Today it was doing what you describe, not trimming right and then the thread kicks out. Earlier in the week to solve some problems on lettering we changed to all Tie In and Tie Out using Style 5 for both, that appeared to help alot, (till late today) Now the same design that it helped on (did a reorder of it 6 shirts today) the letter, wouldn't trim then the thread would travel to the next letter and snap, and on several shirts the last letter it sewed, machine would return to origin and I would remove and the top thread was not cut.

Does it have the new style ACAT trimmer on it?

Will have to find that answer out, I know it has a black trimmer knife, supposedly you can easily replace it.
