  • Amaya Pocket Clamp

Has anyone in Amaya Land used the pocket clamp sold by Melco? How is it better than the Slim Line Clamp or fast frames? Is it worth the money?

The pocket clamp has a tighter grip than the other clamps and you don't use sticky-back stabilizer. I've used it for pockets on heavy bags that wouldn't stay put.

I use the pocket clamp frequently for baby knit caps and small pockets on totes. Yes, the clamp has tighter grip than the Slim Line clamps or Fast Frames. The Slim Line is good for laptop bags.

We have the AMAYA micro clamp which works pretty well for a variety of pockets. I've used it on jeans, totes, and shirt pockets. The only problem I have is, occasionally there are an excessive number of false bobbin breaks, which is apparently common with this sort of hooping device. It's good for getting into small areas, but the actual sew field is quite small.
