Converting from RGB colors

Hi,

My customer has given me RGB color codes to match my thread to, but I don't know how to convert these to Melco Poly thread. Does any know how?

Call melcomart. They have a list of rgb and pantone numbers

Your customer doesn't know how to handle graphics...
RGB is Red/Green/Blue and is only used on computer monitors-never used in printing or graphics!
CMYK is Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black and is the basis for all color print imaging.Unless their computer MONITOR is 'color matched'...then your interpretation of thread color could be way off!
I run into this all the time-my monitors are RGB, and because 80% of what I do is cutting vinyl-where you have only the colors on the roll-no custom colors-it doesn't matter-they have to take what I have for colors. But when I layout artwork in RGB and send it out for printing (business cards, etc.) the colors rarely match what I 'see' on my monitor. Giving the print shop the RGB codes doesn't mean the printed job will look the same as I see on my monitor!
Before you do a sewout, have the customer come in and see for themselves what thread color you are going to use.
Just having incandescent light instead of florescent will affect how the colors look...don't do the job and THEN ask them if the color is right!
