  • XT wont go past needle 8

Please help. I have been stitching just fine, day in and day out. I did a lot of stuff today and then I left to run a quick errand and left the machine on. The machine began making a noise, which it does from time to time, so my husband pushed the emergency stop button. I got back home in a bit, realized that he had pushed the E-stop button. So I just went ahead and rebooted the XT and computer. I went to resume what I was doing before I left and the machine has gone nut-so! I have rebooted the machine and computer, Amaya OS, DS, etc., many, many times. Then the machine began stitching as normal. I finished stitching the one job I was working on before I left and it acted fine. I turned everything off to prepare dinner, came back to the machine to work some more. Put my first garment in. It stitched about 1/2 of the design well and then was suppose to go from needle 1 to needle 11. The machine paused for a second and instead of going to 11 it stayed at 1 but moved off to the left a bit (obviously not lining up with the needle plate). It hit the needle plate and went klunk and broke the needle. I removed the garment and just thought I would try the needle case calibration. Again, it gets to needle 8 just fine and when it is suppose to go to needle 9, it goes back to needle #1 and is not lined up properly.

I am in a major time crunch to get some things out tomorrow and don't know how to solve my problem. I have also gone in and deleted the machines and jobs folder. I'm at a stand still. Can someone please help me?!

I need to amend my previous plea. I believe the design I am trying to do is the problem. When it stitches out the design the needle is on #1 then instead of moving to #11 it moves slightly, but stays on needle #1 and misaligns therefore hitting the needle plate and breaking the needle. I don't see anything within DS that is appears to be a problem. Any suggestions on what might be causing my problem? Please!!!!????

If I were you, I'd go into Program Files/Melco Embroidery Systems/Amaya/Current and delete everything in there. Then reload your file.

I think your first mistake was shutting down after your hubby hit the emergency stop. You should have just unlocked it and continued. I often hit the E Stop to stop all the vibrations which drive me crazy.

I don't have a current file in the path you specified. I did delete the jobs folder and machine folder. Is that what you were talking about?

I did unlock the e stop when I returned and couldn't get it to work properly afterwards so that's when I rebooted, etc.

Thank you for trying to help me. I am so frustrated. I've never had this happen! It's not just the design like I had thought either, I loaded another design and it did the same thing, stitch part of it, move to the #1 needle to the left unaligned. What the heck is the problem!???

          Chrissy,

Are you running Version 7 or Version 9?

Is "Force" download, checked or unchecked? If the box is not checked, check it, reboot and see what this does for you....

Just in case this happens to anyone else. I called tech support. Some how, some way my color change got corrupt. I had to go into maintenance calibration, get default. Then Save. Then go to steppers, home, look at each needle to make sure the needle was coming down in the center of the bobbin shaft and then save.

Just wanted to share the knowledge. Thanks to all of those who offered their help!!
