  • machine started sewing badly

in the middle of a job the machine decided to start running terrible. what I noticed was the thread feed would start feeding too much thread, I seen it as high as 20. this is on a thin polo.

I had to turn off the auto thread feed and use standard to get through the design. but it still didn't run that great compared to before.

the machine is an xts running version 11 melco os.

anybody run into an issue like this before?

well it seems it is on my number 9 needle, what do I need to check for a particular needle acting up?

      Thread path.
make sure the thread is under the wheel and in the V grove behind.
also make sure the thread is in the take up lever with no twist
sometimes the thread will pop up on a break and twist around its self
and can go un noticed by the operator when rethreading.
try removing the thread completely and rethreading the needle from scratch.
also make sure your black cover that the v notch is on is seated properly.

that all looks good. I guess I need to take the pinch rollers off and check down in there for any issues. wife said that was the needle that thread got tangled up down in the pinch rollers and I had to clean it out at one point.
