Upgrading Design Shop 4.10

It's time to give in and upgrade my Design Shop Pro Software. Because I don't want to replace my computers can anyone tell me how far I may upgrade and have the software still be compatable with Windows 2000 or XP? Also is there a reliable source for such upgrades? I am told Melco only sells the current releases and they would require almost new everything.

We had version 9.00.101 with xp and it worked.
