sewing field on 7.5 square hoop

How do I figure out the sewing field on the 7.5 square hoop? It came up in design shop as 5.9 inches. Is that right? Didn't seem right to me.

That is correct. Whatever the size hoop is, take off about 1 inch for sewing. This is done to avoid hitting the hoop.
The easy way is to go to TOOLS, HOOP SETUP. choose your hoop. then go to VIEW, DISPLAY HOOP. Your design should fit inside the dotted line. If it doesn't fit, either resize the design or use a different hoop.
