  • Color change error

I have a fairly new XT and while I was working for a fragrance company today I got a color change error and my presser foot will not line up correctly with the needle. I know that the techs have helped me with this problem before and of course I haven't written anything down. If anyone knows how to fix it I would greatly appreciate it. I'm suppose to go work for another fragrance company tomorrow.

    Thanks,

    Jamenlar,
Try going into Maintenance, Steppers and in the color change column , click on "Home"......that will force it to go to needle #1 and center itself. This of course, assumes that the presser foot is not bent...

Ours just did this last week...and Sue couldn't get it to respond in Maintenance...I shut off the Amaya, physically moved the needle head to 'almost' center on the foot-she shut off Amaya OS and restarted-I turned the Amaya back on-and it centered itself.
Not sure what the glitch was, usually Rod's tip works.

          Roland,

Being that your Amaya is pre-vintage XT, the main culprit for you, is the optical laser sensors for the color change and home positions of the needle case. Keeping these clean by vigoroursly blowing out the sensors as best as you can on a ongoing basis. These sensors were/are susseptible to collecting lint and debris the is dragged into them by the flags....
