  • can not get the Actifeed "hubs" to seat

OK, I just did the 2 mil stitch lube on the actifeed rollers.... now the hubs won't seat, they jump and SNAP/CLICK as the head moves needle to needle. any ideas. Naturally I have work to get out...I'm leaving on a cruise in a week and a half and need to have all this work done before we go... Any ideas out there?! Help please.

    Gabi,

We will have to assume that the rollers and face covers were installed and seated correctly.

Go into "Maintenance", "Steppers" and in the "Thread Feed" column, left click on the "Home" tab a couple of times. What you are hearing is the nylon main thread feed drive gear not meshing properly with the individual thread feed roller gears. The clicking/snapping will result in the main and/or individual thread feed gears to fatique and fracture around their hubs if allowed to continue. Getting all of the gears back in sync will solve your problem.

Sometimes if the thread feed rollers are not seated so that they mesh together properly, then they will not line up with the main drive gear on the motor.......

Rod - Thank you - Thank you
I did as you said, Home a couple of times, then went to each needle and did the test and if I heard a click hit the home again then test. "Gracy" is back to her old self. Thank you!
