  • Trimmer 'popping' thread instead of neatly trimming

i cleaned the trimmer on our brand new XTS the other day now when i run the machine the trimmer is popping the thread instead of just cutting it. I don't know if that would be the correct term but when i watch the machine run and it comes to a trim the thread will shoot up out of the needle and it makes a popping sound almost as if you were to pull on the thread hard enough to make it snap? Anyone have this issue before or does anyone have a solution?

    Thanks,

Mamma Kass is pointing you in the right direction with the link to a past posting....

The XTS incorporates the newest trimmer referred to as the ACAT.

Regardless of machine type, pushrods drive the selector/knife system. When cleaning the system, you may have inadvertently lifted one of the wire pushrods out of their pin holes....check this carefully...
