  • New Machine (Keypad won't work)

We just got a brand new XTS here at our shop. It was assembled for us and then I got it all threaded and connected. It turned on fine, I ran the 50mil stitch maintenance, oiled the hook, adjusted the height of the presser foot, etc. i loaded a design, went to trace and the keypad functions are off for some reason. I tried a bunch of combinations on the keypad and none of them work at all. The green indicator light is On and working on the keypad, the stop switch is not depressed. I just can't find a way to get the keypad working so I can start sewing again? Anyone have any experience with this? Please help?

First, is your machine asleep? If so, the machine running lights will be off; hold down the start button for a few seconds to restart the machine and you're ready to go. If not, find your keypad test feature. Mine in on the Maintenance tab, but I have an ancient version of OS. Also, check the plug-in at the back of the keypad. Finally, the old Big Reds have a problem with the keypad if you depress the stop button repeatedly; the PCB gets confused. Perhaps something like this happened to you. Try turning the machine off then on again, then hold down the start button for about 20 seconds. This usually clears up the PCB confusion.
