  • XT Wide Angle Cap Frame

Hello Everyone. When I use the XT Wide Angle Cap Frame and pop a cap on it to sew my text drops about an 1/8 inch , The longer the line the more drop. I have been having to turn the pattern 1zeg clockwise to make it look half way good and on some thing that has a square back ground complex fill the top tilts in. My first thoughts were with the text was that maybe i and not rigging it up good enough. I have been using accfeed and manual for test reasons. When I sew in the flat I dont have this problem. Could it be that I have a XT Wide Angle Cap Frame that was not adjusted right from the factory? Than you in Advance.

It sounds like you have installed your cap out of alignment or your design is to close to the top of the hat.Take a tape measure and check the hat on the holding fixture that is mounted to the table is hooped straight, just a little bit off and your design will run up or downhill which ever way it is off.If your design is to big and is toward the upper limits of the sewing field it will pull the hat out of the hoop while sewing and this to will cause your problems.

Thank you for info ) it does this time after time. As far as getting it rigged up strait, that is not a problem,I even put a center dot on each cap ). I use tape measure on every cap, I have taken great caution to make sure every thing is lined up ). I am a Machinist )Setups are a big part of my life in Houston. In 98 I was at NASA building The Space Station )and making Jigs for jobs. The Sheet Metal part of it. I have some wonderful cap jigs in my mind. I have not had time to make them. I see things that Melco could had done better. That's diff story )

How long is the backing that you are useing it needs to wrap around towards the back of the hat so that the rear teeth can grab it.And have you measured the hat after it comes off of the machine? What style of hat are you using? Have you tried a different style of hat?

Are you sewing the text from the center out or trying to go left to right? When you sew from one end to the other the cap tends to push. Sewing from the center out eliminates the problem.

OOPs KNC I called you Steve ) and Steve I think i have not been sewing from center out on most caps. I will give that a try ) I am low on caps right now. I have Otto caps sample bags b and c that should be here today. Silly me ordered 48 of those 1.35 caps a few weeks ago and its the ones the truckers wear I think )
