  • image not centered in hoop

    I am sewing an applique with logo over area of removed stitches. I noticed in my practice sewout in the hoop the image is off center to the right by almost 1/4". Is there an adjustment I can make to the machine to be sure it is centering live sew area in the hoop? Since I'm putting this over a damaged area it is critical to match cover... any ideas?

    You need to move your hoop after it's place on the machine. Do this by pressing and holding down the frame button (the button with the rectangle on it), then press and hold the arrow buttons to move the hoop. Watch the laser beam to get a general idea of where you want the center to be. Make sure your design stays within the hoop limits (if you have to move it too much, you will need to re-hoop). If it's a really fit, mark your garment with a center mark and go in to maintenance - head timing - choose bottom center. This will bring your needle down and be the actual center (the laser can be off a smidgon as it is at an angle and the heighth of the fabic will affect it's accuracy). Click OK to return the needle to head up and you're good to go.

    Hope this makes sense. Good luck!

      Dorothy;
      Thank you, I didn't know I could make that adjustment. So I'm able to get this job out the door.
      But I'm still not sure why in DS the image is centered in the hoop, but when it sews its off center the 1/4". This is limiting the live sew area I can do.

        Over on the right hand side (in OS) there is a button that will center the design in the hoop. Then in the upper left there is a button that will center the design. When in doubt, click on both buttons - one at a time. That should center everything.

          Are all your designs off when you use that hoop? Because if they are, you can adjust the hoop dimension in the hoop manager - customize hoop list.
