on the large hoops, the two screw holes on the top and bottom of the bottom ring... what are they for? And while I'm here, is anyone else's fingers too big to get the bobbin case out of the XT's.

I don't know about the screw holes, but to get the bobbin out I flick the latch out with my right index finger, pinch it between the index finger and thumb, and pull it out that way. I can't grab it either, and I purchase my gloves in the childrens' department.

Deb,
I inquired about those screw holes in the larger hoops some time back and all I was able to find out was that they were put there for a design that never took place. I'm thinking maybe to invert the hoop 90 degrees possibly???
As for the bobbin case removal on the XT, yes, it's definitely more difficult to remove with larger fingers than the original Amaya and this is due to the shape of the cylindrical shaped needle plate. I've always told customers of mine that if I owned an XT, I would take the needle plate to the grinding wheel to take a little off that front edge to make it easier to insert my finger for removal of the bobbin case. I guess you have to use more of the tip of your finger or even your finger nail.
