This is probably old news, but I just tried to renew my maintenance contract on my XT. They are not being renewed, as they want to have enough parts on hand for the next three years ...

I'm retiring in six.

There have been signs for years they have wanted to end of life these machines - from the fact they cut it out of the new OS to the refusing to supply motherboards for red machines etc.

literally, if you have a 3 or more machines, it may make sense to buy another if you find it cheap so you can steal parts. That or rely on people like Hugo Who seem to have a stock of both old machines and parts on hand.
