If you have a new AMAYA and are using the Design Shop Pro then you do not really need to load the Simulator. But, if you did not go for the top of the line in the software you might wnt to load it to see what some of the functions that are available.

You have one Amaya XT? Are you using a hub or going direct to the computer? Are you openning the AMAYA OS (operating software) program before you turn on the machine(s)? Please answer these questions. Or call 1-707-426-9963

If the ethernet cable is going straight from computer to machine you need a cross-over cable (the cable should be labeled cross-over.) If you are using a hub, router, or switch, you would want to use a regular CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6 cable.
All of these cables are widely available at computer stores here in the U.S. but I would not know about overseas.

Just as Steve said...if you have a good cross over cable your computer with the software should see your AMAYA. If it does not, then and you are running Windows XP open up network connections from the Control Panel and verify that your network card is identified to WinXP. It should be, then if you do not see your Cat5 cable identified as a cross over cable...se if you can borrow a hub from someone. Test your cable with a hub. Or replace the cable with a new cross over cable. Basicly, you will just have to have someone or youself troubleshoot all possible avenues. Wish I could help more, but Nigeria is just too far away.

Each dongle is required to run its software. So yes you will need them before you open the software. Best to leave them in the USB slot unless you have security issues. (Ie: like someone taking them when you are not present.
