• Thread Getting Caught in Bobbin Pigtail

As soon as I start sewing -- the thread is dropping down in front of the bobbin and getting caught in the pigtail resulting in a thread break and awful noise.

Has anyone else had this problem?
    Need suggestions --- HELP?

Sounds like the pigtail is bent. Have you had a jam recently? Can you compare it to another bobbin case? When you replace the bobbin case, does it still do it?

Tried that, thanks Juli for the idea. New bobbin case -- same problem. I reinstalled the OS software and ran one sample text ok. The 2nd time started the problem again. The thread seems to get caught more often the longer it runs, and almost always happens right after a trim.

I've got the machine running at 1,000 and you can literally watch it happen. You can see the thread come down, and as it pulls back up, it catches on the pigtail or wraps around the bobbin area. Sometimes I can hit the stop button when I see the thread drop, and then start back up again before it catches. Can't sew 4 jobs that way! (aghhh).

I am open to all suggestions !!!!

Do you have the needle in backwards? Sounds similar to what I've done before

          Robyn,

Have you checked your retaining finger to see if it is to close to the hook basket? Also,is this just happening on one needle/color,or is it on any needle?

If it only happening when trimming, then it is the trimmer. Hit the left arrow and the up arrow at the same time to get the machine to relook at what trimmer it has. That might help things and you might have to do it again if it starts misbehaving again.

Another item to check is the "auto lower limit" setting that is found in "Settings" "thread Feed". If this is set too high, default is set to 1, then excess thread will be feed at start up and may cause this problem...just guessing at this point....

Hi Hugo.....hows life in the Sequin fast lane these days?
