  • Machine not centering hoop

Just came across another odd problem with one of my Amaya XT's. I load a shirt onto the machine and tell it to center hoop. The machine moves to center, but it is not. It is off by about 3 inches. I have to manually eyeball the centerpoint. When I look at my design on the screen it is off the hoop. I had to turn off the hoop limits so I can trick the machine. This just started happening. Only on this one machine though. Is it another software problem? I have installed and uninstalled my software 15 times now in the last month. Does anybody else run the software with Windows Vista? I had Melco send me the Vista software but I have problems galore.

    Jason:

That most likely is a sensor issue. What we do on a non xt is hit the estop - move the carriage all the way back and all the way right.

    Then turn the machine off.

    Then bring up the os

    Then turn the machine on.

Usually at that point, it finds the correct center. If not, you'll want to clean your sensor and possibly the rail that it senses where the proper place to stop is. There might be some dirt or grease on there that is faking the sensor out.

      Hi Jason,
I have had the same problem with 2 of my machines. These are 2 of 4 that are 6 years old this month. The issue I had was with the X-Beam assembly. One they had to replace. Right now I just deal with the other as it is very intermittent. To correct the error, I shut down the machine and manually center the beam. When I power it back up it centers properly. That also is an indicator that it is the machine and not the software.
