  • Black Thread Feed Rollers

    Hi Guys

I run a small embroidery shop in the UK and have two 'Big reds' that we have owned for 5 years and are brilliant. I have just run out of our supply of Black Thread Feed Rollers and our local agent wants to charge us the earth to change over to the yellow ones.

I know we will have to change over but we do all our business in the summer months and at the moment do not have the money for the upgrade. Bit of a catch 22!

Has anyone out there got any black rollers we could buy so that we can get through the next three months, earn some money and pay for the upgrade? Happy to pay in advance for rollers and carriage by Paypal if that is the easiest.

Here's hoping someone can help from across the pond!

    Many thanks

    Liz

    Hi Liz,
To change over to the yellow roller system is approximately $95 in American money. Well worth the expense. (However, I don't know the money exchange between our countries nor the shipping costs). In our travel as techs, we have only seen two machines that needed yellow rollers replaced and that was due to lack of lubrication. You can install the new ones yourself. I would certainly upgrade as soon as possible--well worth it!

      Hi Liz,

I upgraded about 2 years ago, but I still have the old black ones from my first Amaya. I had only had my machine about 7 months prior to upgrading so they are in really good shape. I'm sure they are around here someplace. Let me see if I can locate them. I'll let you know as soon as I find them.

I have mine that I removed when I switched (I thought I'd keep as a back up but I will never put them on again). Anyway, all but one are used so but I think still useable. I have 13 total. Do you need any extra red pinch rollers or the black plastic guides; I have those too. If you don't want them, I'm throwing them out. I'd only be interested in shipping costs if you're interested. Thanks for the replies so far. Are they easy to fit because I have been quoted the sterling equivqlent of $ 200 for each machine plus fitting and the last time we called a tech out it was around $ 250

Thank you one and all. Judy has been able to sort me out. Just a shame I can't come out to pick them up in person!
