I have had insurance for the 2 years I have owned my Amaya, the first year I needed someone in a hurry for the lease to go through so I took the first policy offered through an independent agent. The next year, being older and wiser (and with more time to research) I cut that expense in half by shopping around through other independents. I am paying $500 a year with Ohio Casuality for coverage on my machine plus damage to customer's goods (like that heirloom christening gown), loss of income while house is repaired due to damage, liability if someone is injured while in my shop (at home),my PC that runs the Amaya, etc.......in other words, covers the machine and my piece of mind. So, in short, shop around. BTW, a house policy won't cover a business in the home, at least in my state.

I have insurance through my leasing company - Beacon that covers my machine. It is included in my monthly lease payments. Redina - do you have an address for your insurance company, phone number or webpage. I would like to check into that one to see what they can offer me

My machine is also covered through my business insurance(Erie Ins.). But it is $250 deductable, & only covers it if there is an accident of some sort. Normal wear & tear is not included, nor is annual checkups for the machine. Does your ins. cover more than this? Dianne

My machines are also covered through my business (I also use Erie Ins). Same coverage as Dianne. BTW, where are you located Dianne?
Both are under warranty through Melco. I pay for the extended warranty on the "Princess", she is out of warranty.
My "Prince", the XT is still under manufacturer warranty.

FOr those who are interested, my business insurance is with Ohio Casualty. It does cover the machine but only if it is damaged or destroyed, say in a house fire or flood. It is not a warranty on breakdowns or equipment failure. It covers much more than I need as I work at home and most of the coverage doubles my homeowners policy but it is a package so I did not pick & choose the coverage. I paid $1200 the first year becasue I did not shop around, needed something quickly for Beacon. Funny, they did not offer me anything, just said get insurance before the lease is approved. Allstate will not cover the Amaya under the homeowners policy (I asked) because it is a business. Guess I should check with State Farm next year or some of the others mentioned. Thanks, all, for the info.

I have a commercial policy with The Hartford. For $500/yr it covers up to $100,000 in equipment, liability and other benefits. The agent I was referred to is knowledgeable about our industry so it was easy to setup. If anyone would like her contact info I will try to locate it.
