  • Twill on Button Up Mesh Jersey

Last night we seemed to be having some issues sewing tackle twill on mesh jerseys. Constant thread breaks on both of our XT's. The thread seemed to be fraying alot... We went through the check list of what we thought that the issues could be but nothing really seem to fix it. Any ideas?

Tried Auto and Manual Actifeed settings...

Checked Presser Foot/ Changed Needles / Bobbin Tension??

    Thanks!!

Try using an 80/12 needle. You could be getting some deflection from the edge of the twill and causing the thread to fray and break.

I will give that a try... I was not sure if the port holes had anything to do with it. Even the outline stitch was giving us grief. We have sewn regular stuff on the machines this week and they have been running pretty good.

It could also be the mesh portholes. A heavier needle should help.
