hat frame shaft broken

I have had the smaller shaft on the hat frames broke right at the bracket where the pin goes through this shaft. I have another maybe 2 wiggling. I ordered 2 from Melco, but the tech was concerned that they would be broken. They have been on the machines 90% of the time and we have had the XT's for 11 months. I have looked to see if the hat frame was free and clean. Has anyone else had this problem?

I had the same problem. I have had my AMAYA's about a year. I had 6 of the 8 break. Melco is aware of the problem and should replace them for free. From what I understand there was a problem with the hardness of the shaft and they were brittle. I'm not an engineer but I would think you wouldn't need a roll pin over half the size of the diameter of the shaft to hold it in.
