I'm still having the false thread break on needle #16, even on different designs. Any techs out there encountered this before? Does each needle have it's own sensor? Is there any settings under the Maintenance menu, like possible the senors tab, that would indicate a problem? Here is a real strange thing that happened when I tried to change the color number on that needle; when I right clicked on that needle in the color selection window (looks like your spool holder) the OS screen was replaced with "That page can not be found"??????? So, I'm not sure if that was just a fluke or some grimlins in my machine. I can't call Denver again until Wednesday, but I won't be home Wednesday or Thursday. So, I guess I can do without #16 for a little bit. Hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!!! Debbie in Indiana

    Debbie,
I am just a rookie, so my input is a rookie input. I assume you have replaced the needle? Did you check the pinch rollers for any flaws? What about possibly cleaning and re-greasing #16? Like I mentioned before, I am a rookie, so you get a rookie attempt. :&gt I don't mean to insult your intelligence if you already tried these things.

Hope this helps, good luck and Happy New Year!!!

Hi Debbie in Indiana. I had a tech tell me long ago needle numbers 1 and 16 would be less sensitive due to the bar being mounted there...there was less flexing, so more prone to problems. HTH, Judy

        Debbie,

As in an earlier post by Ed, if the problem is only on needle 16, then don't use that needle any more. The problem may be in the thread break sensor which is the silver tube that the thread wraps around on its way to the needles. It could also be a problem with the thread feed rollers, as stated in another post. There is no silver bullet to check in the maintenance or steppers menu for this problem. If you were one of my customers I would tell you not to use needle 16, and maybe 15 until you can contact Denver and let tech support determine what the problem is. The great thing about having a machine with 16 needles is there are plenty of options.

Thanks everyone for your info! Luckily I don't have any big jacket-back type designs to do anytime soon, as they can take more than 16 needles. I'm mostly doing logos this weekend. Thanks again for sharing all your knowledge! Debbie in Indiana
