  • NNEP in Las Vegas - January 15th and 16th?

Do any of you belong to this group? Is anyone planning to attend their convention, or has anyone attended in the past.

Just wondering if it would be beneficial. We've still not been able to schedule training in Denver, and we've had our machine since last February. - Maybe we should just concentrate on getting there!

    Thanks, Laura

Unless it's really close, I'd skip this one and attend ISS Long Beach (weekend of the same week). ISS Long Beach is the BIG garment embelishment show with hundreds of exhibitors. The expo is free if you register by 12/28 otherwise it's only $20. There are seminars as well but they cost money. You could combine it with training the following week as Melco has training classes in the southern california area--but check if they offering any (they may not due to the show).

Just so you know, I didn't go to training for several months after I received my first machine back in Oct. 2002. Depending on your background and experience training may or may not be as critical. My 2 cents.

Also, being in So. Cal. allows you to take a quick trip to Disneyland!

By the way, I'll be at the ISS show on the Friday (I'm debating longer....my daughter's bday is on that Sunday).

Thanks, Dorothy! The Las Vegas show is closer to us, wish we could take enough time off to attend them both (as well as Disneyland!).

I've had a home machine about 4 years, so I do have some experience with embroidery. We purchased a reburbished Amaya last February - and I have done some projects. I still need to learn editing and adjusting design files, and troubleshooting those pesky issues like thread breaks, stepper off index messages, and such.

The technicians at Melco have been great to walk me through some things though, and I have Brad, a tech from Utah coming in a week or so to fix some problems I'm experiencing.

Hummm, I didn't realize there was Amaya training available in So. California. I'll have to check and see what's scheduled. I know my family would love to get out of the cold, snowy weather for a few days!

Have you attended the ISS show in Long Beach before? Maybe, we'll see you there. Hope your daughter has a happy b-day! Thanks again, Laura

I have attended ISS Long Beach before as well as checked out some other shows. I try to go to at least one show a year and ISS Long Beach every other or every third year. It's a great place to check out what people are doing and get new ideas. Some of the show specials can really make it worth it to go too. I have family there so that helps! I just wish it wasn't the same time as the birthday. I'd like to spend more time there than just one day (makes for a lot of walking and fast decision making for purchases).

Well, good luck and perhaps we'll meet up someday.
