LuAnn,
I believe what the techs in Denver are instructing the operator to do is to go into "Maintanance" go to the Thread Feed column and click on "Home".

Then go thru each roller and click on the +- step tabs to get the thread feed gears to all line up again.......the sharp clicking/snapping you are hearing is the main thread feed drive gear that is not lined up properly with the individual thread feed roller gears.....

Hey Rod,

Thank you so much for responding. I talked to the tech that has been at my store in the past and he was able to walk me through the fix.
Shortly after that Ed called me! You guys are awesome!!!

We are all so fortunate that when we need help, all we have to do is ask and someone it there to help.

Again....I cannot that you guys enough!
Frank, Ed and Rod!!!

Have a wonderful holiday everyone!

I am offically out of here until next year

I really want to thank everyone on this list for all the help you provide. I started up my XT this morning and heard the terrible snapping when the needle case moved back and forth. I searched the board and found this solution. Thank you, thank you, thank you! The only real problem was figuring out the right words to search on.

Mary:

The boards we use here aren't the greatest search wise - If I can scrape together $100, I'll probably upgrade the site to Vbulletin (which I use on the other big sites I run) which has a much more robust search engine...

John,
I didn't mean that in a negative way at all. I should have finished up by saying that the "real problem" was my lack of creativity in finding the right words.
I think this board is fabulous, including the way it is put together. It's a wonderful thing you did for the group, building and maintaining this website. It's a gift you have shared with everyone.
Thanks again,
Mary

Hi Mary:

I know you weren't being critical

I was just sharing that I have higher aspirations for our board and hopefully can make it even more friendly in 2009!

If we all send $5 I'm sure you will collect enough money to start working on "high aspirations for our board".
Please think about it. Send your address and I will send you my check.
You are doing a great service to all of us.

It's $180.00 for an owned license of Vbulletin. That's what we would need.

yeah...great idea...I, too, am challenged by the search engine and seem to never hit the wording as I need...let me know what I need to do to contribute.

I'll see what I can do to put a donate button up next week thru paypal. Good idea Julie. I think the new boards software will certainly aid those searching for topics - it even has a related threads feature which would help even further. Plus it would allow me to jettison one if the last sites I run that use this software. It's always easier to focus on one platform - especially since the discussion boards used here have been discontinued for a couple years now.
