  • acti-feel problems

I am having an issue with the acti-feed. The acti-feel when on automatic jumps to 40 points every time we start even when the fabric is thin causing very loose stitches. I have adjusted the foot and the tension on the bobbin but still have the problem....

    Any advice?

Check your actifeed lower limit setting. My guess is that it's at 4... or 40.

The default is 1 I believe.

I'm suspecting that your thread break detection is not working. Give Melco's service dept a call to see what they think. In the mean time, try this....
Put your Acti-feed to "Standard" mode and give it a value of about 3 or 4. If you are not able to sew due to false thread breaks or false check bobbins, turn off your thread break sensor. Go to "Settings", and uncheck "enable all thread detection".
Hope this gets you through your next design.

It was the Acti-Feed lower limit. Somehow it was set to 40 instead of 1. Now it works great!

        Thanks for the help!
