Folks - hope everybody had enough turkey and is back in action today.

I have decided to purchase a Hoopmaster system. I know it's been discussed on these boards in the past but I forgot all the good info.

I want to get everything I need at once for this system, but don't know exactly what I need. If I mainly use the 12cm and 15cm round hoops but also the 7.5in square and the big plastic rectangle at times.

Can someone let me know what I need to buy. I have two XTs if that matters but I doubt it.

    thanks
    Tom

I have bought directly from Midwest. I have found them most helpful--just call them and tell them what you need--they'll work you through it. I have just bought additional items and got them cheaper directly from Midwest than I could from any other source I had found suggested. Maybe you already have them on the Internet--www.hoopmaster.com or called them at 800.900.0741. As I stated earlier, they have been most helpful to me. Bill

      Tom;

I just bought mine from Nick at Melco Mart he gave us 10% off and free shipping and a bunch of other stuff was free with the order since we purchased a couple of different fixtures...The 15cm however is on backorder until the 4th of December...

He is great! Here is his info:

As already mentioned, this has been discussed before, but I am still confused. I, thought, after my research and talking with the Melco folks, the All-in-one was better. Now I see the verbiage that the HoopMaster may be better. Is one really better than the other or is it a personal preference? Why is the All-in-one more $$$?

        Thanks,
        Linus

I bought the Hoop Master, and I love it, I don't know anything about the all in one. I plan to add another piece to the Hoop Master. for bigger projects.

I bought the all-in-one first and once I saw the hoopmaster at a seminar, I kicked myself and had to buy it to make doing shirts sooo much easier. Once you purchase all the sizes for the hoopmaster it will be more $$$ than the All-in-one. I only have yet to purchase the jacket back piece for the Hoopmaster, which I wish I had done so earlier because now I am doing some jacket backs and using the All-in-one for that and it is a pain.

I own the hoopmaster too and love it. It was one of my first purchases after my machine. I will say though, I use a table I purchased at Ikea for my wood jacket back hoops. I do a lot of letterman's jackets and find the table a good height and I can really put my whole upper body into hooping (Thank you Jan!!!!).

Linus - I bought the All-in-one 2 years ago when I got my XTs. While I thought it was great and easy (Compared to hooping it by hand) I still messed up a fair number of shirts and I didn't think the All-in-one was all it was cracked up to be. We had bought it because several of the Melco folks did say it was the best system out there. Now after two years and in talking to many folks "in the field" it is clear the hoopmaster is the better system. While the All-in-One may seem more expensive, once you buy it, you can do pretty much any size hoop on it while the Hoopmaster requires you to buy different attachments for each size. So I'm guessing here, but to do what I want it to do may run me a bit over $1000. That's for 4 hoop sizes and the extender.

I will look around for the best deal and report back on what I find.

Needless to say, in a month or two I should have an All-in-One Hooper for sale.

                Thanks for all who responded.

                  Tom

Many of us have used various hooping aids over the years and achieved varying degrees of success with them.

I don't like to say that any one product is "the best" but in the case of hooping boards, I think most will agree that the HoopMaster is certainly an excellent choice.

I know if something happened to our HoopMaster today, we would quickly replace it with another HoopMaster .... wouldn't even consider another system.

We bought the All in One Hooper as a 'complete' package-and paid less than $650 I believe-and also got several Cd's of digitized artwork and stuff.
I haven't seen anything that we would need to purchase 'extra' since this came with all the add-ons for sleeves, kid to oversize shirts, etc.
I have not tried a heavy work jacket on it but nylon (Sanmar Challenger, etc.) gave me no problem.
Right now it lists COMPLETE for $899,

but they do run sales constantly-it never hurts to ask if they have a sale planned. Also, if you mentioned they are frequently brought up on the chat board here-perhaps the sale price would be offered to Amaya owners! That's how I get all kinds of deals-just ask.

As someone who has used the All-in-1 Hooper for several years now (I got it as part of the Amaya "package"), I can honestly say that it has some serious shortcomings. If I had to do it over, I'd certainly get a Hoopmaster instead, and it's on my list of "wants" for when the time is right. In the meantime, I make do with what I've got!
