  • Files for Hats?

Hey, I was wondering if there was a special technique to set dakota files so they sew out correctly on hats. I have the full collection of dakota and want to be able to put them on hats.

ps. I know they need to sew from the center to left and right, I just wonder how to do it?

    Thanks in advance

I would not call it a special technique. What needs to happen is the sewing order needs to change so it sew center out, bottom to top. This can be done by editing the design, BUT, it is not the same as having it digitized for caps. There are other concerns as well. Density, stitch length, type of element. Is the design going to be resized? You may find that just changing the entry/exit point of a complex fill does not give you the correct stitching direction
required to sew properly. You may need to re-digitize elements to get them correct. One thought would be to get your colors/sizing correct, then save the design as a JPG and then have it digitized for caps. Clearsky will do it for $50.00. You could spend a half a day messing around with something and still not have a sucessful design. Your time is worth something. MY 2 CENTS.
