  • OS locks up on start up

Somehow a corrupt design has gotten into my OS software, and when starting the Amaya, it tries to load this design and it locks up the program. The screen looks almost like the Design Shop screen, but the toolbars are definitely OS. How can I stop this design from trying to load so I can load the design I want to stitch. I am truly up the river without a paddle. At this point in time I cannot get the Amaya to respond at all, because OS locks up immediately after trying to load this design.

    Marie:

Have you tried to remove OS then reinstall OS? Also, you might try the software help desk at Melco..

    Good Luck!

Melco help desk isn't open yet, so thought I would try here. Thanks for the tip. I was thinking that reloading would be my best best. Just wanted some other input. Thanks again.

If you are familiar with Windows Explorer, Go to C:\Program Files\Melco Embroidery Systems\Amaya\Jobs and under the Jobs folder will be either a folder called Cluster 1, or it may be the serial number of your machine, and under that folder will be a folder called Current. In the Current Folder will be the design that is loaded when Amaya starts up. Delete it and this should solve your problem.

This is a common issue - Reminder to myself to post this eventually in the FAQ SECTION.

            Jeff,

It worked - that was the answer - just deleting the file. Thanks so much. We have a huge order coming in today and I was starting to panic.
