Guys,
First of all, "Inside Cabin" is a must. For the extra money, you'd have to sit and look out the window to get your money's worth. You want to see the water? Go to any edge of the boat.
Second, you don't want a room under the kitchen or disco dance floor. Try sleeping under that kind of noise.
Third, we might want a cruise where one day we travel at sea, next day in a port, next day at sea, port, sea, etc..
This way we can talk shop and enjoy the cruise on different days and not have to worry about getting up early every day so not to miss the little boat that takes you to the island. They call that Island Hopping. I would think this would be more for those folks who cruise all the time.
For example:
Left port of New Orleans,
Travel at sea,
Port of Tampa, Florida
Travel at sea,
Port of Cozumel, Mexico & Grand Cayman Islands
Travel at sea,
Return port of New Orleans

As for us all getting together in a meeting room, this would have to be a must. Also, access to audio/visual aids would also be great. I'm sure there are cruise lines that can accomodate. Maybe they call them business cruises.

I agree Ed on the at Sea concept maybe we should put together a survey and see what everyone is wanting as far as 3 verses 7 day cruises, what kind of classes they would like to have and the best time of year they would be willing to go, along with what part of the world they would like to see when not in class...

All the cruise lines are able to accommodate meetings however if we wanted to do something say at the beginning of the year it might be a little rough as meeting space believe it or not gets pretty full fast..

Can we put together a survey on here?

Guys - coming in late here but as I run one of the largest Walt Disney World travel sites on the internet INTERCOT ( www.intercot.com - shamless plug!) - we have an in house travel agency that specializes in cruizes. If you want me to look into group rates etc... just yell. I know this sort of thing can be done as we have looked into it for our site...

Hey,

We just booked Costa Cruise Lines-Costa Mediterranea out of Ft Laud. FL. for 7 days at $550 a person and Kids Free. We are going March 29th 2008.

Port Everglades, San Juan/Puerto Rico, Saint Thomas, Casa de Campo, Bahamas/Grand Turk, Port Everglades

If anyone else decides to jump on this deal let us know and we can meet up on the ship.

John, if you have better rates than Yahoo travel or direct from Costa, let me know, we book a cruise or two a year.

Thanks,
Steve

Hey John!

I too know it can be done however not at a last minute kind of deal. Not sure if you saw my other post when everyone was talking about going to Hawaii to visit Juli and then the hole cruise thing started but my real job is a travel agent specializing in cruises as well. I would love to see this happen for the Melco users out there not because I am an agent as I truly believe this would be a great learning experience for everyone and a great way to have some fun as well...

I need an exterior with balcony. After having that on the Alaska Cruise I don't think I could handle an inside room. I like to sit on the balcony in the middle of the night and take pictures and hang my feet over the rail without having to put clothes on and leave the room Its worth the extra money to me.

Aren't there International Laws against something like that??? I think it's called something like "Reverse Pornography."

I never said I was naked. Just in my boxers. ALthough the ALASKA trip was a bit cool I might have to change that if we someplace warm My best friend and his wife want to go on this cruise with me so I might have to get a suite. I think they will still let me run around in my boxers.

I hope Aaron had the camera pointing in right direction

I also prefer the balcony as well.

Hey TINA K.
Just giving you a heads up that several of us are anxiously awaiting the results of the Amaya Cruise survey. Any preliminary results so far....??
I was thinking about going to the Fort Worth ISS Show with a shirt on that says something like, "Ask me about the Amaya Cruise". I figure the more folks know about this the better the response.
